... a baby alien

I found this little chap at the bottom of my crochet bag when I started making hats this year (more of them to follow soon). I had completed his brother (the pale blue alien baby in my slideshow) ages and ages ago but this one got abandoned with a body but no features when my summer pursuit of choice - being in the garden took over.

I felt a bit guilty about leaving him there unfinished so got him done. I am really glad I did as he turned into quite the cutey!

...a footstool

This make might not look all that exciting on first glance but I am very pleased with it!

Because I have rather short legs they often don't reach the floor when I am sitting on chairs designed for you 'normal sized' people, my lovely new(ish) sofa being no exception. So I needed a footstool.

The nice thing about this one is most of it is made out of the old sofa. I am almost incapable of throwing anything out which is sometimes a problem and sometimes pays off. Almost everything on this footstool was recycled from the sofa or was given to me for free (even the cotton it is sewn with came free with my new machine!). I reckon the whole thing cost me under £2 which can't be bad!

...a hat for an Innocent

Hi - Welcome to my new blog. It will record things I have enjoyed making, whatever they may be.

For my first post something small that could help have a big impact........

Innocent (the makers of very lovely smoothies) have a cool campaign each year where people knit (or in my case crochet) hats for their smoothie bottles. The bottles go on sale wearing their handmade hats and for each one sold Sainsbury's/Innocent donate 35p to Help the Aged. This is my first hat for this year - more to follow.

For more info on the campaign have a look at this......Innocent campaign
